This week we are presenting our proposal which we had to
write for my English college class. For my proposal I wrote about the Memorial
Coliseum. In the beginning, I had no idea what I was going to write about, I
was trying to figure out something that my classmates would like to research further
and also something that I would be interested in looking into. I had an idea of
writing about the Kentucky Theater at first but I didn’t find it very
interesting, later the Memorial Coliseum came easier to my mind to write about
and persuade others through my proposal. I did not know much about the Kentucky
Theater and could not figure out on reasons why it was worth looking into.
Writing the proposal for me at first was a little difficult but came easy
afterwards. One problem I had was finding sources that had information on the
Memorial Coliseum and did not want to use unreliable websites such as Wikipedia.
Despite the lack of sources, I found enough information that helped me
construct my proposal. After we had written our proposal, we did two activities
in class which I enjoy, one was when we had an in class peer review on our
proposal and the other one was practicing presenting our proposal in front of
our classmates. In the end, my overall experience of writing the proposal was
an unusual experience for me because I had to think about what others would
like to do and also if it would be a good project for a documentary film. It
was an experience which I had to put more thought into than I expected and hopefully,
my proposal does get chosen. I look forward in finding out more about the
Memorial Coliseum and hope to have certain questions answered.
